Brief description of the P.h.D. project:

Intestinal organoids and trachea/lung explants are used as in vitro and ex vivo models to study avian influenza viruses (AIVs). All substrates are cryopreserved and later thawed for infection studies. Validated in chickens, these platforms will be extended to wild birds like mallards to support pandemic preparedness.
