Brief description of the P.h.D. project:
My PhD research focuses on developing sustainable therapeutic strategies for skin injuries. By adopting a ‘blue’ biotechnology approach, Mediterranean sea urchin by-products are investigated as a source of bioactive compounds with significant biomedical interest: collagen and antioxidant molecules. In Prof. Patruno’s lab, we work to valorize these marine-derived biomaterials through comprehensive in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo analysis.
