Brief description of the P.h.D. project:

The PhD Research Topic aims to develop rapid, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable inspection systems to assess qualitative (i.e. origin, species, status) aspects of animal-based products. The research combines spectroscopy and chemometric analysis, supported by microbiological and molecular biology techniques, to build robust databases for product authentication and to help prevent fraud in the food supply chain.
