Brief description of the P.h.D. project:
The pandemic caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) highlighted the urgent need to thoroughly understand the transmission dynamics of pathogens between animals and humans. This knowledge is essential to anticipate, prevent, and mitigate similar future events through innovative and multidisciplinary approaches that consider the interconnectedness of human health, animal health, and environmental protection—an approach known as One Health.
Within this context, my PhD project was developed, entitled “Monitoring the Emergence of Novel Viruses at the Human–Animal Interface.”
