Brief description of the P.h.D. project:
Pathogens and spoilers persist in food environments, posing challenges for food safety. Some bacteria, repeatedly isolated in the same place, withstand various stresses in food plants, entering dormancy states (VBNC/persister state). The mechanisms of persistence aren't well understood, so the aim of my project is to explore dormancy pathways using microbiology and molecular biology techniques.
